An important intermediate for making electroluminescent materials,namely,5-bromo-1,3-Bis[(2-phenyl)-5-(4′-methoxy-phenyl)]-1,3,4-oxadiazole,was synthesized by using 5-amino-1,3-benzenedicarboxylic acid and 4-methoxy benzoyl hydrazine as raw materials and undergoing a serial of reactions,such as diazotization,acylchloride,diarylhydrazide and dehydration.
